There are few things as reliably insane as Basement Jaxx. At this point, you kinda know what you’re gonna get when the dance-pop duo get together: genre-flouting uptempo craziness, intriguing guests, a healthy dose of the unexpected.
Considering nutso first single “Raindrops”, appearances from Yoko Ono, Santigold, and nipple-bearing rap crew Yo Majesty!, and sleeves like that one below, new LP Scars should be no exception. The record is due out in October via XL, according to a Billboard report.

But not even Basement Jaxx can keep it past 11 all the time; the duo’s Felix Buxton told Billboard that there are some “Pink Floyd-y, more ambient-y” tracks on the way in the form of a mini-LP due out soon after Scars. Until then, there’s plenty of typically cracked Jaxx music on the way.
You can hear several album tracks– “Saga” featuring Santigold, “She’s No Good” featuring Lightspeed Champion, and “Distrackionz”– on the Basement Jaxx website right now.
