Steve Bug’s “Audiomatique” label is going strong, and this “History Part 1″ compilation marks 20 of the labels greatest releases, b-sides and remixes from the back catalogue

July 27th, 2010

Taking a detailed picture of the label’s artist roster, this collection features burning tracks from the likes of Trentemøller, Robert Babicz, Martinez, Gui Boratto, Umek, Adultnapper, Alexi Delano, Huggotron and many more top artists.

Picking up on a few highlights…. the selection begins with Trentemøller’s ‘Physical Fraction’, one of his earlier works that kick started his illustrious career, we are later graced with 2 other amazing tracks from the Danish master. Robert Babicz’s ‘Sleeping Beauty’ is a melodic synth led romp that sums up the labels musical angle on the tech house sound, miles away from the watered down loops of many of todays fashionable labels, its raw, energetic and pure quality!

Huggotron aka John Dahlback’s ‘Flashlight’ is a trippy and electronic weapon that phases and pumps through its acidic zones of play. This is closely mirrored by Mark & John’s ‘The Most Dangerous Animal In The Zoo’, a serious acid attack that combines psychotic vocals and heavy beats.

Mount Kimbie, the duo of Dominic Maker and Kai Campos – have just released their highly anticipated debut album “Crooks & Lovers” on Scuba’s Hotflush label

The experience was less like listening to music and more like eavesdropping on the machinations of a lone mind – albeit a lone mind surrounded by and retreating from millions of other minds. Difficult to categorise, the lush EPs caused a commotion when released last year with “Sketch On Glass” recently undergoing reworks from the likes of Faulty DL, SCB (Scuba’s darker techno alias) and their sometime collaborator James Blake.
